Appearance: Ann is most often seen with her long brown hair down, and in a green dress. Standing at about 5'7 she's tall for her age, and Ann looks a bit older than she is, though sometimes she certainly doesn't act it. In fact, her appearance could be something to lull you in a false sense of security before you just want to punt her and throw her off the nearest bridge.

'Peasant' is also another good way to view her fashion sense, seeing as she has lived in an orphanage for a good portion of her life, but she's really quite hardy, even a bit muscular for all the running around and pranking she's done--as well as the consistent exercise from her tangles with Scissorman. Usually wearing a smile, Ann does her best to try to avoid looking sad at all times, even when the going gets rough.

Though she really has to do something about the color green. She wears too much of it.

...It may match her eyes.

But no.

Just...NO.

Personality: Ann is hard to explain in a single word. On one hand, she's a prankster, upbeat and cheerful, with enough optimism to fill a swimming pool that's partially fused with infinity. On the other hand, she's about as tough as they come, due to circumstances that involve jerkholes with giant pairs of scissors. Resourceful and intelligent, Ann is a bit of a paradox.

Normally, she's a bit of a goof and maybe a tiny bit bossy; but when the going gets rough she changes to a serious personality almost instantly. Snappy decisions, quick thinking, and almost tangible tenacity make up this girl when things go bad. Though then again, one has to become tough and resourceful, especially when one is being stalked by a psychotic killer, otherwise known as, to Ann, "The Scissored freak that will not die".

She's also a rather loyal person--protective and a true friend, even when there are psychotic killers and tabloids and even more psychotic professors and therapists trying to come between them. She's also fond of leading; she's done it since she was a little kid, and she has no intention to stop now (Again, I did mention she was a tiny bit bossy).

She never used to have courage, though she's had to get it forcibly from her experiences, and now she has buckets of it. Again, thank psychotic serial killers out to stab her in the face. And her friends in the face. With giant scissors.

She also has a habit of trusting shy, sweet, quiet people. And wanting to mother them. Instantly...because they remind her of her dead best friend, Laura.

Abilities/Weapons: Ann is very, very resourceful--this sort of goes without saying. In life-or-death situations she can manage to keep a relatively cool head. Having to protect somewhat panic-prone best friends does this to a person. She can't really use ranged weapons, per se, though she has picked up a gun once. Nevermind that she couldn't hit the target and just ended up chucking the empty gun at the enemy's head, but she at least gained a good throwing arm that way.

She also can use blunt weapons.

But as far as abilities go?

She is a natural leader, due to plenty of time spent in the orphanage rallying the kids around, and she is agile and good at hiding, as well as finding creative ways to get in and out of trouble. Her mind is also quick, and she can think her way through nerve-wracking situations--if only because of necessity.

And she's also scared of very little, and hard to panic. If only because she feels that she's seen the worst of what life can offer so what can anything ELSE do to scare her?

Weaknesses: Her history may have given her some strengths, but at the same time...it has also weakened her in several areas. Mostly in the case of guilt complexes and occasional private angst tendencies.

She also keeps a lot of things bottled in, and because of this, it's hard for her to let out her emotions in a healthy manner. She's used to smiling all the time for her friends to keep them strong, so when she herself feels weak, she won't let herself show this weakness in front of people.

She also has nightmares often because of her horrible experiences, and gets a bit anxious when people touch scissors, or when scissors are near her. She also tends to be immediately distrusting of people named 'Mary', until she sees them in person. She's also uncomfortable near windows, and sometimes this turns into an all-out phobia if cornered by a hostile near one (luckily she manages to keep herself from having panic attacks...most of the time).

History: Ann was an only child born in Melior, though after her parents died when she was a baby, he was sent off to the Granite Orphanage, on the outskirts of Solare. Being in the orphanage since she was a baby, she never quite considered it an orphanage, despite the sometimes poor care and the even worse food. It was her home, and the ladies there were her 'mothers'. As she grew older and nobody came to adopt her (some said it was because she was a terror and played too many pranks; Ann denied all charges), she started taking on more of an active role in Orphanage life. More and more girls would come in, and she'd take them under her wing...some used to call her "Corporal Ann" because of her almost military-esque supervision over the younger girls. But because of her cheerful personality and sparkling wit and consistent smiles, Ann was somewhat of an idol among the girls, and nobody ever tried to usurp her authority.

Except Ms. Mary, one of the teachers. To Ann, she was the "Psycho-bitch from Hell", but to all the other girls she was "Ma'am". Known for her psychotic mood swings and occasional violence towards the girls. Ann, and another girl, Lotte, commonly stood up to Mary when she got in these fits...though in Ann's case it was because her best friend Laura was a common victim, and in Lotte's case it was because shy Jennifer Simpson was also a consistent victim. Mary had tried to get Ann and Lotte both cast out, but...because of their reputations her claims against them had all been null and void.

But other than that, her life was pretty normal...until shortly after her fifteenth birthday.

A noble in Melior named Simon Barrows had apparently adopted Ann, as well as her three friends Laura, Lotte, and Jennifer, in a mansion known as the "Clock Tower". It was a night in September when the girls arrived...and Miss Mary was the one to lead them to the house. After taking her time to get Mr. Barrows, Jennifer decided to go and search for her...and when Jennifer left, the lights went out, and Ann's worst nightmare began.

It was Scissorman. At least, that's what Ann called it. Laura ran one direction, Ann couldn't get ahold of her...in a panic, Ann ran upstairs and managed to escape...only to get cornered by Scissorman in a high room, and shoved out the window.

...Miraculously, she survived, thanks to the pool under her breaking her fall. Escaping the pool, she'd found herself exploring the mansion...coming to contact with Ms. Mary, who turned out to be the one who orchestrated all of this...and was the mother of the Demon Twins, Bobby and Dan Barrows. She commonly brought children from orphanages for Bobby to slice apart...and for Dan to eat. Laura had died, sliced apart and burned in hot water in a shower...and Lotte had died to save Jennifer, who had managed to survive...

Mary had died, as well as Scissorman...Scissorman was crushed, Mary had plummeted to her death...and Jennifer would never say what happened to Dan...

After that night, the two girls thought it would be over.

Shortly after that, Jennifer and Ann were hounded by newspaper reporters because of the sensational Scissorman Murderer (and the booming case that followed), and sent into therapy because of the horrible trauma of the event; Jennifer and Ann were both in protective care, though by different people. Jennifer by a woman named Helen Maxwell, and Ann by a different man. This man was a sick pedophile, and had often exerted his sick and disturbing fantasies upon her...when Ann wasn't hitting him hard in the face in retaliation, or hiding. She would have called the police on him (and had tried, several times), but as he was the assistant of her psychiatrist, nobody believed her even when she did. It was a sad, horrible year for Ann.

A year later, she had found that Scissorman was back...when she found this out, it was because of the fact that the pedophile was shanked. And she couldn't help but wonder if she should feel grateful to Scissorman for a moment.

...But she had managed to flee Scissorman again, and it turned out that she and Jennifer were not safe from him. Again.

Several times they had escaped Scissorman's clutches, in various locations...but then the Demon Statue, one of the main keys behind the Clock Tower case, as well as one of the Keys to their own first Hell, went missing. And police officers and new friends that Ann had made during this year of 'freedom' had started to die around her, faster and faster.

And then, Jennifer and many others had disappeared.

Ann, desperate for answers, went on a mad search for this statue, thinking it was the only link to find her friend as well as the key to destroying Scissorman forever.

She would do anything to find it. And find her friend. Even if that meant going into the thieving and pirating profession...
